Interview With a Heart Specialist
Over the next week you and members of your group will interview somebody in the Health Science profession. The interview may take many forms, such as: in-person, over-the-phone, email, or letter.
Questions to Consider:
1. What made you choose this profession? 2. Do you enjoy what you do? 3. Is this a stressful job? 4. How many hours do you work each week, on average? 5. How many years did you have to go to university? 6. What is the toughest part of your job?
NOTE: these are just sample questions. Please feel free to ask any others.
Collecting Heart Rate Data
Procedure: Record all steps. Step #1: Calculate your resting heart rate (# of beats/minute). Step #2: Perform one of the exercises listed below for two minutes. Step #3: Calculate your heart rate 1 minute after completion of exercise. Step #4: Calculate your heart rate 2 minutes after completion of exercise. Step #5: Calculate your heart rate 3 minutes after completion of exercise. Step #6: Calculate your heart rate 4 minutes after completion of exercise. Step #7: Calculate your heart rate 5 minutes after completion of exercise.
